The Forest: Neuer Patch bringt Bogen mit sich

Wie geplant hat Entwickler Endnight Games heute einen neuen Patch zu The Forest veröffentlicht. Neben zahlreichen Bugfixes ist der Spieler nun dazu in der Lage einen Bogen samt passenden Pfeilen zu craften.

Mittlerweile liegt der Alpha-Release von The Forest einige Monate zurück, doch auch weiterhin arbeitet das Indie-Studio Endnight Games an der Fertigstellung des Spiels. Ein Timer im Hauptmenü von The Forest verrät, wann das nächste Update erscheinen wird und auch dieses Mal hat Endnight Games den Patch rechtzeitig zum Ablauf des Timers veröffentlicht. Wie gewohnt bringt das Update zahlreiche Bugfixes mit sich, doch auch Neuerungen dürfen Spieler erwarten.

Da es sich bei The Forest um einen Survival-Titel handelt, wünschten sich zahlreiche Spieler einen Bogen samt passenden Pfeilen. Endnight Games hat diesen Wunsch nun berücksichtigt und die Fernkampfwaffe in das Spiel implementiert. Um den Bogen zu basteln benötigt ihr einen Ast, Kleiderstücke sowie ein Seil. Für einen Pfeil solltet ihr hingegen nach einem Ast und insgesamt fünf Federn Ausschau halten.

Weiterhin kann nun Medizin hergestellt werden, indem ihr die Aloe Plant sowie die Marigold Flower miteinander kombiniert. Außerdem dürfen im Stickholder nun bis zu 20 Stöcke gelagert werden. Doch auch die Texturen sowie die Beleuchtung haben weitere Verbesserungen erfahren. Um was genau es sich dabei handelt könnt ihr den untenstehenden Patch-Notes entnehmen.

  • Marigold and Aloe Vera now get stored in backpack when picked up
  • Texture resolution option added to options menu (start screen options menu only) Try lowering this to improve memory on lower ram systems and improve performance on lower end cards.

  • Birds now spawn feathers when killed
  • Day counter now starts at 0 from when you first wake up in plane
  • Improved cave items/layout and lighting
  • Fixed lizards & birds vanishing when close to edge of screen
  • Rainbow will be forced off now if night time
  • Enemies will now push past bloody table instead of getting stuck
  • Improved look of dead
  • Fixed some missing sound effects, improved night time sound effects

Note: Some reported bugs may be due to old save games! To ensure your game is fully up to date start a new save game every couple versions.
